Assignment Due for Camp

First of all, as Gavin and Silas know, I have never given a percussion assignment to turn in. So Derek, this is the first. As you read through it, see if you can figure out what works for you. If you can’t figure out what to play it on, please reach out to your private teacher or myself. So this is a test run.

Due/Uploaded by July 27

All recordings are to be done with a metronome so that I can hear it. You should upload your assignment to the folder on your google drive that we have shared with you. If you did not get that email with the link, please email Ashley and myself and we will get you set up:

Dance of the Comedians
NO REPEATS PRETTY PLEASE
Quarter Note = 110 please put the subdivision on the metronome…(you will thank me at some point)

This is a note from Staci:

For timpani, it is best for percussionists to practice with mallets on pillows (one per timp) – especially playing along with recordings.

For snare/drum parts, almost everyone has a practice pad – it’s especially important to play along with recordings.

For the triangle and cymbal parts, the best thing to do is clap the rhythms – especially playing along with recordings.

In case you did not notice, she said THREE TIMES to practice, playing along with the recording.
